Use the externalFunctions property to find out whether a particular external function is available for use in handlers, or to list all the available external functions.

Value:

The externalFunctions of a stack reports a list of available external functions, one per line.

This property is read-only and cannot be set.

Comments:

You use an external function in a handler the same way you use one of Revolution's built-in functions.

Cross-platform caution! It is not possible to load externals written for PowerPC in an application running natively on an Intel Mac. To get around this limitation either use Universal Binary externals, or run the program under Rosetta.

Changes to Revolution:

Support for using the externalFunctions property on OS X systems was added in version 2.0.
